What is THE BOOK?
A 48-tile minimap of your current book (⇧⌘B). Each tile's ink shows how full that page is; click one to jump there. Torn pages leave a stub.
What happens at page 48?
The shelf ceremony appears. Your book presents its ledger — days, scraps, rolled, filed, torn — and offers to shelve it and start Book No. 2, or to keep triaging. It's deliberate; nothing is archived automatically.
Where do finished books go?
Onto the shelf, inside the cabinet — dark spines wearing the 48 mark. They're read-only: open one to read it and copy out a selection, but you can never write in it again.
Can I keep two notebooks at once?
No — one book at a time, sequential volumes. When this one fills you archive it and start the next. That limit is the point of the whole app.
